Kaylene Poff is a retired registered nurse, having worked in a hospital setting for over twenty-eight years. The last nineteen years of her career were as an oncology nurse in a hospital-based rural cancer center. She used her background in chemotherapy administration to describe many of the details in the storyline of her first novel, "The Cancer Center Mystery". The characters in the story are purely fictitious.Kaylene is married to her high school sweetheart. They have two children and five grandchildren. Kaylene and her husband reside in rural Kentucky. She has a love for all animals, with multiple cats and a dog living in her household. She takes care of multiple feral cats with the occasional visits from raccoons and possums. Kaylene’s second book, a children’s book entitled, “Nana’s Feral Cats”, teaches children and adults about feral cats and how to take care of them.
